The collection contains 3 clippings, 1946, on theacceptance by Lady Astor ("dauntless advocate of high ideals") of a Medallion of Honor from the Virginians of Maryland. The collection also contains a letter from Elizabeth Meriwether Gilmer (popular author "Dorothy Dix") to Isabelle H. Goss, on her Albemarle County descent from Nicholas Meriwether, together with a commentary by Mary Rawlings on the factual errors in Dix's account. The collection also contains a brochure advertising the Annual fund drive of the American Red Cross Albemarle County Chapter, March, 1946. The collection also contains an issue of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Magazine for October 1945 containing the article "Fifty years with Virginia Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy.
